About Rep. Ward
An advocate for inclusive growth that empowers individuals to create a better tomorrow, Rep. Jim Ward has been a leader in efforts to repeal the failed tax experiment and in promoting responsible budget practices that avoid excessive borrowing. He is a staunch advocate for all Kansans and has dedicated his efforts in the legislature to implementing policies that help working and middle class families. His work is concentrated on ensuring good jobs at a living wage, strong public education, and making health care accessible and affordable for every Kansan.
The Representative for District 86 in southeast Wichita, Rep. Ward is also the Kansas House Leader for for the 40 Democrats from across the state. He serves on the Finance Council, Legislative Budget, Joint Committee on Administrative Rules and Regulations and the Committee on Interstate Cooperation. Rep. Ward has previously served on the Wichita City Council, as a Board Member for USD 259 and in the Kansas Senate.
He is a practicing attorney of 30 years and proud father of 2 children, Zach and Emily.

Held DCF accountable for children killed in state custody
stopped privatization of state hospitals
